As part of my spiritual journey into the mandala, I made offerings to each of the Five Male and Female Buddhas. I chose to make a pair of vases, the tall one symbolizing the masculine principle of skillful means, and the round one symbolizing the feminine energy, the creative space from which everything arises. The pointed tips represent the spire that shoots up though the middle of the stupa connecting earth and sky. The five colors represent the five buddha families, the five wisdom energies that radiate from pure light. For me, in my meditation, they appear in soft rainbow like hues; white (Buddha family), blue (Vajra family), yellow (Ratna family), pink (Padma family, and green (Karma family).
